- Porsche will reveal the latest 911 GT car via a livestream on Friday, October 18.
- Today, the company released a teaser photo of the new 992.2-generation model, showing a shadowy side profile of a car with a prominent rear wing.
- Porsche says it will debut two variants at the same time, and that suggests they will be the new GT3 and GT3 Touring.
Earlier this year, Porsche pulled the covers off the 992.2-generation 911, revealing the Carrera base model and the GTS with the new T-Hybrid powertrain. Of course, the 911 lineup is deeper than most NFL rosters, so there are more 992.2 cars on the way, starting with the first GT model that will debut at 12:30 p.m. ET this Friday, October 18.
Porsche today released a teaser photo that shows the side profile of a 911 that's shrouded in darkness. We're able to make out enough details that hint at what's coming, namely the prominent rear wing, which appears to have a swan-neck design like the 992.1-gen GT3. A roll bar is also clearly visible through the rear window, and the driver is wearing a helmet, both of which hint at the car's racetrack-ready intentions.
Along with the teaser photo, Porsche released a statement saying that it will debut two variants of the new 992.2 model at the same time. That suggests the cars will be the winged GT3 and the wingless GT3 Touring, which we think could arrive as 2027 models.
The new GT model will be introduced by Andreas Preuninger, director of GT the model line, and brand ambassadors Walter Röhrl and Jörg Bergmeister. The livestream can be viewed on Porsche's YouTube channel. The company said the car will give customers "more individuality and feature innovative details." We'll find out what that means on Friday afternoon. Stay tuned.
