The Most Unusual Gadgets and Technologies at CES 2024

CES is an abbreviation for Consumer Electronics Show, the Consumer Electronics Show. It is held every year in Las Vegas, and this year more than 4000 companies showed their technologies and gadgets at it. The peculiarity of this exhibition is that most of the devices are not concepts, but finished products that can be bought in stores.

If you know English at least on a basic level - watch Reed's video about the novelties of CES 2024. And we will tell you about what we found most unusual (and what is not in the video)New Nvidia Super graphics cards and RTX Video HDR technology

Nvidia continues to develop image processing technologies: it added support for a neural network-based algorithm that translates a medium-quality picture into 4k format. There is also a translation of a standard image into HDR format - this is an extended range of images, when the details of the picture are well drawn both in the lighted areas and in the shadows. The technology will work on all RTX-cards starting from the 20th series. What is computational photography and how it works

And the new graphics cards get a Super version - the RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super. They have slightly higher operating frequencies and a bit more video memory

Transparent TVs

Samsung and LG showed their transparent TVs: they look almost the same, the only difference is the screen technology - MicroLED or transparent OLED.

It looks cool, but the problem is that any image on it will look like on a regular TV. To get a picture like on the photo below, you need to make a video with a special transparent layer - so the TV will realize that certain areas should be made transparent. Without it, the picture will look very different from what it looks like on a regular TV.

A one and a half meter box to collect 378 liters of water from the air per day

This really huge cube with a side of 155 centimeters can collect almost 400 liters of water from the air in a day. To do this, the humidity must be above 40%; the higher it is, the more water can be collected. This cube also weighs a lot - almost 400 kilograms.

The cube is suitable for those who find it difficult to drill a water well at home, for people living in arid areas and for expeditions - at distant points without a constant supply or on ships.

Anti-snoring pillow with AI inside

The idea is as follows: we take an ordinary pillow with foam, add a mini-compressor to pump air to the desired area and a processor with an AI module. When the pillow notices that a person is snoring, it flips their head so that the snoring stops. Sounds cool, but snoring isn't just caused by head position - it has more serious medical causes, and you can't cope with them by turning your head. But just sleeping in silence next to someone who normally snores is cool too

FRENZ BRAINBAND sleep (and braindance) hoop

The hoop is placed on your head before you go to sleep and starts measuring your heart rate, oxygen levels, breathing rate and head turns. But most importantly, it will use microcurrents to recognize your current sleep phase (and sometimes adjust it). When deep sleep arrives, the hoop will use bone conduction headphones to turn on special tunes for better sleep. We are waiting for the firmware to view the braindance:-

Sportswear that delivers electric shocks

An interesting approach to sports: engineers from South Korea have made sports pants that collect energy from walking and running, and these microcurrents stimulate the athlete's muscles. They say that this way the muscles will be in better tone, and the results and effect of sports will be higher. It costs about 10,000 roubles, they will not be officially brought to Russia yet, but you can order it on other sites.
