January was pretty busy in terms of new consumer technology launches. A lot of incredible gadgets took part in the CES 2024 exhibition in Las Vegas (USA), but it was also not without a few major releases. The publication Gizmodo offers to read the list of the best devices of 2024 and take a closer look at them.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone
The unequivocal flagship among the smartphones unveiled in early 2024 is Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra. This artificial intelligence (AI) enabled phone promises users an immersive experience not only with photos and videos, but also with a wide variety of content - text and audio.
The Galaxy AI functions will help to perform simultaneous speech translation, optimize notes, create lists, edit and translate texts, highlight the most important or problematic places. AI will also help to edit photo and video files.

LG Signature OLED T Transparent TV LG Signature OLED T
LG has announced a fully transparent TV at CES 2024. The company claims it is the world's first wireless transparent OLED TV. The model is called Signature OLED T. It is powered by the WebOS operating system.
It comes with a special Zero Connect Box module, through which you can connect different devices, such as a smartphone or laptop, to the TV. The module can be located from the OLED T at a distance of up to 9 meters.
The Claw gaming console
The Claw is a handheld gaming computer that runs on Windows 11 Home operating system and MSI's Android app player. It also features an Intel Core Ultra processor, a 7-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 16GB of RAM.
The device also received from the developers support for Wi-Fi7, 2 speakers, USB Type C port and Thunderbolt port, HDMI and audio jack. The weight of the gadget is 675 grams.
Palmplug One gadget for sharpening tactile sensations
Palmplug One is a gadget for rehabilitation of stroke patients. It is worn on the hand and provides a person with tactile feedback. That is, if the patient's hand is insensitive, the Palmplug One will correct that.
The developers say that the gadget can be used in other applications for haptic effects, such as during video games.
LG's CineBeam Qube projector
LG's 4K projector, the CineBeam Qube, can be used strictly for its intended purpose, or it can be used as a "stylish interior accessory." At least, that's what the development company claims. The aim is for the device to blend in with the décor of the rooms thanks to its understated design.
The projector runs on WebOS 6.0. Dimensions: width 13.5 cm, length 8 cm and height 13.5 cm, weight 1.5 kg. The 360° rotating handle allows you to easily transport the device and organize viewings anywhere. The model displays 154% of colors in DCI-P3 color space, focusing and keystone correction are performed automatically, which is important when placing the video projector directly in front of a screen or wall.
XReal Air 2 Ultra augmented reality glasses
Unlike Apple's expensive $3500 Vision Pro glasses, the price of a similar gadget XReal Air 2 Ultra is only $700. The model "holds" on a titanium ring frame, has a modern and cute Wayfarer-style design.
The latest version of the glasses from XReal is the "successor" to the XReal Air 2 and Air 2 Pro models, and is mainly focused on spatial computing. The glasses function thanks to 3D sensors that track everything that happens around the user. The sensors, by the way, are equipped with computer vision and provide real-time location and map information.
Omen Transcend 14 laptop for gaming on the go
The tiny and lightweight Omen Transcend 14 laptop is incredibly thin at just 18 mm or 0.7 inches. It also weighs negligible: 1.36 kg with dimensions of 30 cm by 2 cm. It is lighter than its predecessor, the Transcend 16, and is positioned on the market as a notebook "for gaming on the go".
Its display diagonal is 14 inches with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, and its lithium-polymer battery capacity is 71W*h. The gadget also features a single HDMI 2.1 port, two sets of USB Type-A and Type-C, and a headphone jack. It comes to the market in two variants with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H chip or Intel Core Ultra 9 185H chip.
OnePlus 12 smartphone
OnePlus smartphone got wireless charging, 6.8-inch QHD+ display with brightness up to 4,500 nits in direct sunlight, proprietary OxygenOS operating system.
According to the AnTuTu benchmark rating, OnePlus 12 received the highest performance rating, and all thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The device has 24GB of permanent memory and 1TB of internal memory. A 5400 mAh battery completes the picture.
